The Sunbeam Project is a local Community Based Organisation working in the communities in the Kisoro District of Uganda in the southern sector of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
It opened its doors in 2010 to respond to the silent voices of children crying for a reassuring hand on their shoulders after they lost their parents mostly to HIV/AIDS related illnesses or malaria or are vulnerable because of poverty and illiteracy.
Despite benefits accruing from tourism the community members have remained poor and struggling.
In some families children have to take up the roles of mothers and fathers to their siblings. Moved by the deprivation and suffering of these children, and a burning passion for their plight we founded a charity that would address the challenges of these children who live in a state of hunger, loneliness and despair.
Join us in bringing happiness to the lives of these children and opening up new and exciting possibilities for their futures.
